Distressed Black Iron Chandelier!

A NEW chandelier with a unique style at The Designer Insider!

Distressed Black Iron Chandelier
This unique chandelier has an orb shape feel with its open cage style iron arms in the middle. This is one of those chandeliers that could easily fit into different design styles of modern or traditional. The chandelier height is even a little shorter in order to fit into rooms with normal ceiling heights too. This design starts with a center post that resembles an arrow with an open iron cage design in a round shape that appear to be tied onto the center arrow post. Then each of the six arms are also arrows that point outward evenly around the orb iron cage. Each candle cup is pierced onto the end of the arrow for a dramatic and very unique look. The ironwork in this chandelier is intricate and detailed with its arrow motif. All forged by hand and then finished in a distressed black with a matching 3 foot chain and six lights. Design 101: Do the Unexpected!

Modern homes of today look the best when they have items that are "unexpected". See four room examples of this below from the Brice showroom in Atlanta.

This beautiful spool chair is stained in a dark finish and then covered with an ikat fabric in browns, grays and blacks. The unexpected part is the ivory fabric as a coordinate, this anchors the chair and makes the ikat fabric come to the forefront without being too busy. This large ottoman is a traditional style with its turned legs and traditional wheels. Then covered in a modern "flour sack" fabric in blue and ivory. Mix the old and new to create something special for your room!

I visited the Kravet showroom this week and guess what's new! This modern chair from Kravet is called the Athens Chair and is shown here covered in a brand new woven stripe of green, brown and red with chenille textures. Notice the back in a coordinating red fabric. Beautiful and modern!
