The New Vintage Brass Lighting!

Vintage Brass Dining Pendant
This is a gorgeous new dining pendant with a turned spindle and crowned shade finished in a Vintage Brass. Beautiful patina and look for a modern or traditional dining table. The wood spindle has many turns for a furniture look and is stained and finished in a rich brown with levels of coloration. It is finished on the bottom with a brass ball and is connected to the brass canopy with a brass rod. The brass shade just makes this pendant even more beautiful. Size: 27" across x 41" high. This is a gorgeous new dining chandelier with two lights in a rectangular shape. Perfect for long counters and tables. New Iron Chandelier for Lower Ceilings!

Bronze Iron Floral Dining Chandelier
This beautiful chandelier is all wrought iron with a unique design of flowers and leaves. The chandelier is wide at 36" across but is only 20" high for shorter ceilings. The all iron fixture has beautiful curved arms and flowers that seem to sprout from a center vase at the top of the light. More leaves are added in the middle at the bottom with some pointing upwards and some downwards. This gives this light an extra special touch. The iron is then all finished in a bronze with gold brushing for a distressed look. Brand new at The Designer Insider, item C09738.

Schumacher is introducing the new Chesterfield Sofa that has been adapted from 19th century English interpretations. This sofa is very traditional and features exquisite detailing with a sophisticated style.

Iron Tree Branch Chandelier
This intricate hand forged iron rod required a great deal of skill in the making of this design. The "old iron" finish enhances the ironwork along with the skilled handiwork in crafting this faux branch designed chandelier. The candles are perched on the branches at different heights to add to the natural effect. Also comes in a smaller size and a wall sconce.

We currently just finished a rustic home where we used the larger chandelier in the foyer, two smaller ones in the laundry room and the sconces in the living room. Tres chic!

First German Compact Kitchen

This is the "first" real German kitchen that was produced in 1926 and designed by Margarete Schutte-Lihotsky. It was inspired by the compact kitchen facilities found in a luxury modern railcar and was considered the first mass-produced fitted kitchen.

Reactions at the time were mixed and very critical because it was so unlike any design in a domestic setting in Germany. The typical kitchen at that time was filled with large stand alone items of furniture and it was a labor intense environment.
